ZOOM IN

When you're working digitally, command + and command - should be as important as command z. By changing your vantage point you can judge your design as a whole and then check to see if everything is aligned. This is true for drawing and painting too. Stand at your easel so you can get close and walk back easily. Frequently shifting perspective lets you see the whole picture. Watch Charles and Ray Eames' zooming experiment The Powers of Ten.
